I found this spider next tot he river after accidentally stepping on a snake. It was carrying an egg sack below it.

Dolomedes sp. Fishing Spider
Your spider is a large but harmless fishing spider. I think it's D. scriptus. I looked up the species in the
Colorado Spider survey
and it is found there.
