Are the grubs the next generation of queens? I watched grubs fall from the nest today and I saw an adult pick one up and fly away with it.

The grubs should be the next generation,..
But the fact that they are loose in the entrance and being carried off suggests that there was some damage to the inside of the nest which disrupted them. Normally they are raised in the comb inside the nest
