August 21, 2011
This picture was taken by my husband, Troy Zurovec at Resaca De La Palma State Park in Brownsville, TX. This park is located on the US/Mexico border. They do not release any captive species here. Concensus is Aberrant Clytie Hairstreak.

One distinctive trait of this species is the eye color. Most Hairstreaks have black eyes, and only a few have them light colored.

Moved from Butterflies (excluding skippers).
