After more checking
I did read a bit more in Bousquet's catalogue and decided to ask Serge Laplante from Ottawa to explain to me why A. elongatulum should prevail over A. canadense despite the explanation on page 1203. Serge told me that, in this particular case, A. canadense is still the valid name because A. elongatulum is a junior homonym and, therefore cannot be used. This wasn't clear by looking at the list of synonymies on page 1628.
So shouldn't we get the name A. canadense back?
