Found on what looks like horse-tail grass. This is the third year in a row I have found at least one example of this coloring, indicating to me that it (the coloration) is here to stay and is not just a one-off morph. This one was most shy as were the others I photographed before, unlike most crab spiders I have met. I was wondering, though, why they never stick around the areas I find them in. In this case, there is a very good reason why it was gone by the next day. There is a rather large green lynx who has set up house-keeping in the same clump and she is a ravenous eater judging by the carcasses strewn in the grass around her.
