Green caterpillar on goldenrod - Cucullia florea

Green caterpillar on goldenrod - Cucullia florea
Kitchener, Waterloo , Ontario, Canada
September 18, 2011
Size: roughly 1.5 inches long
I found two of these caterpillars on goldenrod. I have looked through my entire Princeton field guide to Caterpillars of N. American but am unable to identify it. I'm hoping for an identification, but also, can anyone tell me if those are wasp eggs on the caterpillar? (the small white things)

Moved from Moths.

Moved from ID Request.

I think you're right; thank you very much!

The eggs look to us like Tachinid Fly eggs
You can look them up and see what you think. The caterpillar looks like The Asteroid - Cucullia asteroides, or one of its cousins
