Ovipositing - Hemerobius - female

Ovipositing - Hemerobius - Female
Alameda County, California, USA
September 18, 2011
I spotted this lacewing with eggs at 9:30 a.m. on a pole-bean pod. She stayed in that position all day; this didn't seem normal. In early evening, I provided water and food (leaf-miner eggs). The tip of her abdomen was lightly stuck to the eggs. I freed it with a nudge from a toothpick. She moved around a little but didn't leave the bean pod.

Photo taken at noon.
