Undescribed Sp. B - Male - Polistes parametricus - male

Undescribed Sp. B - Male - Polistes parametricus - Male
Perry County, Pennsylvania, USA
September 12, 2011
Found on goldenrod.
Dr. Buck's commentary (talking about males of the new species):
"Besides having more reddish antennae this species can also be distinguished from fuscatus by having much less yellow (anteroventrally on the thorax, gena). Another telltale sign is the black spot between the antennae (often present in [Sp. B] but never in fuscatus)"
