Strange Orangish Caterpillar - Acronicta insularis

Strange Orangish Caterpillar - Acronicta insularis
Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska, USA
September 18, 2011
I think this one's on Smartweed (we have loads of caterpillars on that stuff right now). I found 2 pictures in Simyra insularis (#9280) that look similar, but I'm really not sure if that's what this is. I at least feel somewhat confident putting it in moths at this time. Any help is appreciated.

Moved
Moved from Butterflies and Moths. We would agree with parasitized Simyra

Moved from Moths.

It does look like a parasitized Simyra insularis
