We would say praevarum is ruled out
and this is Skimming

LOL, peer pressure.
Ha.

Yea, based on the little I know it skimming seems to
be ruled out.

Enallagma praevarum maybe.
Enallagma praevarum maybe.

praevarum has a lot more blue on the abdomen
and we think it is a southwestern species that wouldn't likely be found in New York. But these Enallagma are tough aren't they?

I could net one easily
There were many. This is a glacial lake, natural 100% with intact wetland on the border of rare inland barrens. Biota here mixes with some unusual Central U.S. fauna/flora in part, or Coastal Atlantic in part. We have many unique records from this surrounding area from Karner's to Blanding's turtles, so anything is possible.

Skimming

Cool, yes
Does seem right, also cool its a September record for BG, and http://bugguide.net/node/view/367158 has a June record from the very same lake! :-) If it does pan out. Many courting today on the surface. Thank you. K.
