Female Rhionaeschna multicolor? - Rhionaeschna multicolor - Female
Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, USA
September 22, 2011
This dragonfly was spotted in an alder (Alnus rhombifolia) tree near the lake at the Claremont Colleges' Robert J. Bernard Biological Field Station. I think it is a female Blue-eyed Darner (Rhionaeschna multicolor). Could anyone confirm or correct?

Agreed
That's what I would call it.

Thanks!
Male Blue-eyed Darners are amoung our most common dragonflies flying over the lake. It's nice to have a photo of the female.
