tiny beetle - Syzeton subfasciatus

tiny beetle - Syzeton subfasciatus
Harvard, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
June 17, 2006
Size: 1.7mm
I found this on the underside of a honeysuckle leaf.

Nice find
and another family finally gets a *live* representative :-)

"Live beetle"
At first I didn't even know if this was a live bug. It looked like a tiny orange speck on the leaf, so I photographed it, then touched it, and it flew.

Aderidae: Zonantes subfasciatus
Pity he wouldn't stick his head and antennae out. They like to hide out beneath leaves.
