Catalpa Sphinx
This is Ceratomia catalpae, there is a pale form which looks very similar to this individual. See here:

Was this feeding on that oak leaf? As far as I know this species only feeds on catalpa, although if it is nearly full grown it may feed on other plants (I know some sphingids and saturniid larvae do this).
