Unique pattern?
Is that pattern of triangles unique to this species?

As best as we can tell.
All the other Eupithecia, that we can find images of, do indeed look different. But of course there are plenty of species for which no images are available in books or online. Wagner describes this caterpillar exactly under miserulata, and says that 90% of the Eupithecia he finds are miserulata. In discussing this with a couple other editors, it made sense to us to move them all together here until such time we find out otherwise. At least they are all here now and people can focus on the ones that are left on the genus page.
