Coenosia tigrina
Probably Coenosia tigrina.

What about the prey...
any thoughts? capture and suck dry kind of predation, like an Asilid? do Muscids do that? Inquiring minds here want to know. My impression was that the prey was struggling.

I just stumbled on this article and thought it was cool
It might answer some questions on how this genus attacks and kills, but also, for those who would like to enjoy the sport of falconing on a budget.

Basically on trains a tiger fly to launch from their finger, grab prey from out of the air, and return to the hunter's finger, prey in tow!
