Identification
The original description as Anthoecia petulans Hy. Edwards, and a later description by Hampson (1906) are both available in the print references below.

Holotype was collected in Florida. (8)
Habitat
Adults are usually found on or near the blooms of the host plant.
Season
Adults appear to be most common in June, and August to October. (6)
Heppner (2003) reported the flight period is September to October in Florida. (2)
Food
Heppner (2003) reported the host plant is Chrysopsis subulata Small. (scrubland goldenaster). (2), (7)
Other species of Chrysopsis are likely outside of Florida.
