This female Araneus, apparently after laying, was inhabiting our deck and adjacent flowers. She seemed either cold or old, as she was very sluggish.

Looks like Araneus saevus to me. Nice shot of the epigyne.

 
Araneus saevus
would be my guess too. Since you have such great epigyne/scape shots I've emailed Rod to verify. I think these could become voucher images.
