Pyraustinae? - Samea druchachalis

Pyraustinae? - Samea druchachalis
Hobe Sound, Martin County, Florida, USA
September 25, 2011
Size: 10 mm
Looks like Samea but does not seem to match any species except maybe the worn, pinned MPG druchasalis (#5152.1), which to my knowledge, has not been reported from Florida. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Samea druchachalis - Hodges #5152.1
Moved from Pyraustinae.

We had some show up this year in southern Texas. Nice moth.

ID Question
Bob Patterson has an image tentatively placed at MPG under S. multiplicalis here which looks like this. How do I tell the difference? Or perhaps Bob's image is misplaced? It doesn't seem to match the other images at MPG under this species as well as it does the above image.

Thanks in advance.

Bob's image was placed there as (T)
and I sent him a note about the id last week. It will eventually be moved to S. druchachalis. Bob's photo was from 2007 and it may turn out to be the first FL record for the species!
Thanks

Thanks Maury
I am assuming that druchachalis is the correct spelling? I see it also as druchasalis, for example in MONA.

yes, Samea druchachalis is the correct spelling
The type specimens are labeled druchachalis. The online MONA list apparently is a typo.

I mentioned your Florida sighting to Ed Knudson, (Texas Lepidoptera Survey), and he was aware of the Florida "invasion" this year. Three new county records for Texas in 2011. Good year for this nice moth.
