Twelve-spotted Tiger Beetle at home in October! - Cicindela duodecimguttata
Pelerin, Kent County, New Brunswick, Canada
October 10, 2011
After three unusually warm days in the second week of October, I saw a few Tiger Beetles on the driveway near the pond at home, including this nice 12-spot which I was able to photograph, giving an OK data point for NB for October...

late year for them
Yes, I was eeing them until last week on my gravel driveway her in Maine. We've only had two frosts so far. Today is supposed to be warm and sunny. Maybe they will last until November!

Yes indeed!
It was warm here yesterday in next-door New Brunswick and I searched in vain for them, but today is another day (and also supposed to be OK weather). We have had a few more frosts than two, but also lots of nice warm weather. It hit 32C (~90 Fahrenheit?) yesterday in the greenhouse...Lots of very happy insects in there too.
