symphytan - Dimorphopteryx abnormis

symphytan - Dimorphopteryx abnormis
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
August 28, 2011
on Amelanchier alnifolia

Moved
Moved from Unidentified Sawfly Larvae.

I have no experience with this species, but this looks like a Dimorphopteryx, and D. abnormis is the only species recorded from Amelanchier/Rosaceae (all others on Fagales).
