Chlaenius cordicollis - male

Chlaenius cordicollis - Male
Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, USA
September 8, 2001
Size: 14 mm
Coll. and det. P Messer. Label reads "under drift d.; beach sand; L. Michigan"

I've had this for awhile but just realized it wasn't in the guide. Better late than never...

One of the most common
carabids collected near my home in Ozaukee County (early Spring to Autumn) -- but only found under drift wood and flat stones lying along sandy shores of Lake Michigan. This is my first personally captured carabid specimen to appear on BugGuide. Thanks.
