My guess is Hyles lineata.

Not gallii
H. gallii is not found in Arkansas, the related species Hyles lineata is however. This specimen is lineata.

Take a look at Hyles gallii ... there is a photo in Caterpillars of Eastern North America by David L. Wagner that looks very similar.

Fair enough
I had seen it listed near St Louis, MO and didn't realize that was about as far south as it gets.
