Not a sphinx, but a Saturniid
This is a male buck moth Hemileuca maia.

thanks for the quick ID.
I spotted a buck moth caterpillar this year. I was able to ID it through Bugguide.
they are a beautiful moth.
I thought Sphinx moth because of the feathery tail end.
