It's a very specialized beetl
It's a very specialized beetle that likes ocean coastline and quite poorly known. Massachusetts is the northernmost extent of its known range, if you found this in NH or ME it would be a new record!

I'm pretty sure this is Neohy
I'm pretty sure this is Neohypnus lectontei, great catch Tom!! This is the typical color for this species (compare with previous photo of teneral specimen).

Gorgeous photo which shows an abdomen with denser pubescence than normal and a large depression above the eye (in the enlarged version).
