Some sort of weevil. Not sure if it is an acorn weevil as we do have some live oak trees in the yard. We have had the windows open with the great fall weather. This one was found inside the house and I put it on a gerbra daisy I was already photographing. It seemed to enjoy the environment.

Lots of soft light & patience
This was taken with the Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (1-5x magnification) inside the house using Alien Bees monolight strobes. The softboxes made for some nice light. It is a difficult lens with a narrow depth of field so lots of holding your breath is needed if shooting handheld.
