Unknown Moth - Disclisioprocta stellata

Unknown Moth - Disclisioprocta stellata
Montrose, Laurens County, Georgia, USA
September 18, 2011
Size: unrecorded
Found on back porch late at night. I am at a total loss with this one. Drab-coloured moths are almost completely interchangeable to my eyes, especially when, like this one, the markings are dark and seemingly cryptic, although they are quite distinct and form a regular pattern on this specimen. The real fun begins with those whose patterns are truly cryptic...:-)
