one, one one, one, one ...
This makes 1,110 new taxa for Alabama. I was hoping to find one more by next Friday, 11/11/11, when along came #1,111. This is so much fun!

This could be Blastopsocus variabilis
the spotting pattern on the dorsal abdomen looks much like Fig. 384 in Mockford's book (1) which relates to that species.

I was wondering 'bout that ...
I thought the venation looked like Blastopsocus, but the abdominal spots did not look exactly like B. variabilis. You are sooo right, as Mockford says, "The spotting pattern on the abdomen is diagnostic."



That would make about 1,080 new taxa for Alabama. Thanks
