October Entry For Bean Plataspid In Georgia - Megacopta cribraria - male

October Entry For Bean Plataspid In Georgia - Megacopta cribraria - Male
Montrose, Laurens County, Georgia, USA
October 24, 2011
Size: 4 mm BL
Found, naturally enough, on kudzu vine in forested area. Per Troy Barlett's expository photos, this is a male. This one was easy enough to find with its white outline around the eye. Note the "spikes" on the skin of the vine which this fella was quite interested in. Anyone know what they are? They were obviously placed there and are not growth on the vine.
