Bug On Clover - Oecanthus - male

Bug On Clover - Oecanthus - Male
Lory State Park, near Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado, USA

almost certainly it is
O. quadripunctatus; however, without seeing the underside of the antennae, it is impossible to be absolutely certain. However, the appearance of the insect is a match for this species, and it is very common in that area. No other species that looks like this is likely to be seen there as far as I know.

Male tree cricket.
This is a pretty nice shot of a male tree cricket in the genus Oecanthus. Males have the front wings greatly expanded and modified for sound production. Females look much, much more slender.
