Is this not C. callipes?
According to Whitworth 2006, Compsomyiops callipes differs from Cochliomyia by the brown calypter, clavate palp, and bend in M not closer to wing margin than dm-cu.

In terms of superficial appearance of validated specimens, Compsomyiops callipes seems to have a dark purple abdomen and darker scutum, versus the typically more tomentose scutum and more greenish abdomen in C. macellaria.

...or Cochliomyia macellaria
I think I see a stripe on the thorax, so compare Cochliomyia macellaria.(1)

I think you're right
The dorsal thoracic stripes and yellow genae are distinctive.

Calliphora vicina?
Possibly Calliphora vicina.

Fly
This is a fly, not a bug. Nice photo.
