Araneus nordmanni
Moved from ID Request. Based on location, 'anterior dorsal humps', and general appearance I'm guessing A. nordmanni. This one is a little tough to ID because it is a female that has already created its egg sac and is a bit 'shriveled'. I'm afraid I can't seem much in the ventral view to help with the ID. I should mention 25 mm would be very large for that species. They are more like 13 mm. A. saevus would be my second guess.

25mm may be a little generous..
But it was definitely closer to 25 than to 13.

Thanks
That might help with ID later.

maybe not Araneus...
Wait for the experts, but the hairiness and reddish legs make me think it's a Neoscona sp.; N. oaxacensis is in your area.

N. crucifera
was my 1st guess. I'm seeing 'closer' Araneus matches, though.
In any case, I love the red legs!

No flash
under overcast sky - hence the much darker appearance.
