Diplocheila assimilis
based on my microscopic examination of this male specimen which is now a photo-voucher in the P.W.Messer collection. Thanks Tom.

In notheast difficult to distinguish externally from very similar D. impressicollis. D. assimilis supported here by pronotum slightly sinuate basally, pronotal width widest anterior to middle, and 7th elytral striae well impressed. At a future date I need to study the male aedeagus here to clinch the identity.

This "Diplocheila"
looks quite interesting along with many other carabids you've posted. I look forward to studying them if that was in your plan.

Diplocheila
oh now that makes sense

It's all yours Peter
I mailed out what I had on Thursday, so you should be seeing a few specimens soon.

those transverse pronotal impression look real weird...
must be diagnostic; there is this Anisodactylus kirbyi thing mentioned by Brad last night(1): it has "basal foveae... with linear impressions anteriorly",(2) whatever that may mean...
the eyes seem rather bulging... i'm intrigued; can't wait to hear from the experts.

And who says you can't find bugs when it gets cold:-)

not me, that's for sure!
