I am new to insect identification and frustrated that I haven't been able to identify this individual from the available online guides to Pacific Northwest lepidoptera... Help?

It looks a lot like this one, which has not yet been identified beyond Tribe Arctiini:



Maybe someday we'll figure out what these are. :)

I'm primarily a marine ecologist, so I'm just getting used to these amazing land creatures. Thanks for the speedy heads up! I found it on a fallen log in the woods, by the way. Of course, I don't know the tree species either (yet). :)
