Which species of blue woodlouse is this? - Armadillidium vulgare
Escondido, San Diego County, California, USA
November 10, 2011
This blue woodlouse was striking in color and stood out next to the black one's. I have a video on my site showing the two next to each other in comparison.

a guess
From a neat site about woodlice I read that "An iridovirus can infect woodlice and at advanced stages of infection virus accumulates in such large numbers that it forms crystallinel structures in the diseased tissues. These crstalline structures give an intense blue or purple colour to the woodlice.Individuals infected to this extent will usually die within a short time." So the poor thing may be sick. Thank you
I just found that site too! Awesome. Thanks Joe for the comment. Poor thing indeed!
