Bembidion mimus - Bembidion affine

Bembidion mimus - Bembidion affine
Medford, (~25 miles east of Philadelphia, PA) Burlington County, New Jersey, USA
June 18, 2011
Size: 2.7mm (as shown)
This image highlights the microsculpture (or not) on the apex of elytra (best seen on enlarged version of image). Although lighting and lighting angle seem critical to observe this texture on the apex of elytra, try as I might, I couldn't see any further forward.

See comments under dorsal image.

This with a Nikon 10x/0.25 M Plan 210/- objective

True m/s mesh is likely shown near elytral apices
but that does not really help because both species in question would show that. This is a male and so the m/s distinction would be apparent atop the medial-most interval in the anterior half of the elytra. My tentative imression of "B. versicolor" here is based mostly on the pronotum showing an adequately prolonged sinuation before the base.

Thanks again, Peter
Try as I might, there does not appear to be any m/s mesh on the medial intervals forward of the apical 3rd. B. versicolor it is then!
