Rove Beetle larva?

Rove Beetle larva?
In Westwood - elevation 5100ft, Lassen County, California, USA
June 6, 2011
Size: 20-25 mm
I found this good sized larva under a rock in the yard. Perhaps it might be a large rove beetle larva?
But I am not sure of this; so any ID help is appreciated - thanks.

carabid, methinks

Thanks V!
