Geometridae: Speranza pustularia?
Hmmm...I could be wrong, but these specimens may be examples of the Lesser Maple Spanworm Moth (Hodges #6273). They appear to resemble this BG image, I think:

That was my first thought too, but when I looked at the examples in the guide, I wasn't convinced. I'm wondering if they might be some kind of Macaria (which is the same tribe as Speranza).

 
Macaria- yep!
These appear to be Macaria bisignata, a common species here in the northeast.
