Unkown Geo - Hydriomena furcata

Unkown Geo - Hydriomena furcata

Looks like Hydriomena furcata
BEAUTIFUL specimen! This is a dead ringer for Hydriomena furcata, showing the totally distinctive broad, rounded forewings. Also note the gently zigzagging dark bands, which are of even thickness throughout their length. Hydriomena albifasciata or nubilofasciata would be much thinner-winged with more jagged markings.

Also, furcata is probably the only Hydriomena that would fly in November. It's also a very scarce species. Good find!

The name Hydriomena quinquefasciata is often applied to our local populations of furcata; this "species" has been merged with furcata.

Thanks for the great comments!
I also liked the strong deep colored markings! Thanks for the ID!

Definitely a Hydriomena
But beyond that,it's hard to say. Looks a bit like H. furcata, but there are several dark ones which are hard to tell apart & get to species.
