Smokeybrown - Periplaneta fuliginosa

Smokeybrown - Periplaneta fuliginosa
The Woodlands, Montgomery County, Texas, USA
June 9, 2006
We found this one outside, on the back fence. I believe it is Periplaneta fuliginosa, a Smokeybrown Cockroach. TAMU lists it as common in Texas (and I can vouch that it's common around here.) Other internet sources describe the Smokeybrown as "a little over 1 inch long, and both sexes have wings that are longer than the abdomen. Their very dark mahogany colour is striking; no light markings appear on the pronotum or wings." That does describe our specimen, and the nice image of a Smokeybrown by LunarEagle. Should there be a species page for these?
