Dotted Wolf Spider - Rabidosa punctulata

Dotted Wolf Spider - Rabidosa punctulata
Whitepath Road area, Gilmer County, Georgia, USA
November 22, 2011
Possibly attracted to light from head-lamp, while I was lying motionless on leaf litter in a mostly deciduous N. GA mountain forest during very early morning hours (while waiting on another spider to emerge from its burrow.) Focus achieved by light from head-lamp and flash was necessarily used, as it was very dark. Body length not measured, but estimated at 11-15mm.

Identification made from Spiders of the Eastern U.S. by Howell and Jenkins, as well as from images on BG. Also consulted NEARCTIC SPECIES OF THE WOLF SPIDER, GENUS RABIDOSA, by Allen R. Brady and Kelly S . McKinley. If ID accepted as Rabidosa punctulata, this would be Georgia-November data-point.
