pinkish-pronotum marsh beetle - Sacodes thoracica
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
June 18, 2006
Size: 3 -4 mm est.
Came to UV lights on warm, humid, buggy night. It's dead here. I failed to notice this strikingly two-toned beetle while it was still alive.

Images of 12 scirtid species are shown in a downloadable pdf poster, "Scirtids of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park," of which this one's markings match Sacodes thoracica.
