Grasshopper on alpine summit, Maine - Booneacris glacialis - Female
Katahdin, Piscataquis County, Maine, USA
September 1, 2008
Size: 1"

yes, looks like an adult female
though the genus name "Pezotettix" isn't used for anything in North America anymore. The genus Pezotettix is a small group of species found in Europe and north Africa, and is put in a different subfamily now. The name used to be used rather generically for most of the smaller Spur-throat Grasshoppers, especially in the northern hemisphere. A few other genus names have been used for this species and close relatives), especially "Podisma", which is a very similar Eurasian genus.

Moved from ID Request.

Thank you both!
I enjoyed learning more about this species.

Pezotettix glacialis?
Possibly Pezotettix glacialis, a wingess grasshopper found above tree line in New England.
