I found this in a greenhouse attached to my house in the backyard in northeast Albuquerque. I own a dog that defecates in the backyard. Being a dung beetle, that may be what attracts them.

Uropodid deutonymphs can be seen hitching a ride on this beetle's legs. I post a much more heavily burdened specimen, and will soon post images of the mites themselves taken from it.

This image is a CombineZP processed stack of 130 images with a 51 micron step taken with a reversed Leitz Focotar-2 enlarging lens set at F5.6 + bellows + Nikon D300.
