I'm not finding
any other platycheirus in my county, except for May 2011. Should I frass one of these or are both of these less then great shots, useable for the guide?

Maybe keep this pic, so we have a record. The females of this genus can often not be identified, even if you have the specimen...If you get a better pic, it is still time to frass these ones...
