Small attelabid about to mount big attelabid - Pterocolus ovatus

Small attelabid about to mount big attelabid - Pterocolus ovatus
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
June 25, 2006
Size: 3 mm possibly
Collected in sweep net from tree foliage about 4:30 PM on humid, overcast day. Amazingly, this species has a kleptoparasitic relationship with the other atellabid shown here, Homoeolabus analis. See info page for details.

Neat!
Are you familiar with the life history of this species? If not, take a look at the link I just added to the guide page.

Strange world! Thanks, Charley.
Now I have another beetle story to tell.

This is
Pterocolus ovatus (Fabricius, 1801)

Thanks, Nicholas.
It sure looks right to me. I'll move it there.
