Rove Beetle Perhaps? - Philonthus cognatus

Size: 13 mm Body
I found this bug about 4:00 PM while I was building a retaining wall in our backyard. It was crawling in some gravel and was very quick on it's feet. It looks a lot like this one ID'd from Victoria,
BC. Any help confirming this or with an ID on Genus/Species? Quedius maybe?

This is Philonthus cognatus,
This is Philonthus cognatus, a very common species in Canada that has been introduced from Europe.
