This can't be Megasoma
Doesn't look right and I do not believe it is that far north. Maybe a dark form of Dynastes tityus?

with the identity of the beetle in question. It does look like a Dynastes tityus as well.

 
It could be,
I guess if you look at it closely you can sort of even see the spots. Do you think I should move it to the page for D. tityus?
