So, I was wondering what type of fly this is and what were those red parasites (?) connected to it.

Take a look at Acari for more info and photos of mites. I have noticed that a lot of insects have mites especially during the warmer months. Here's one example of a beetle I found .

Looks like
mites on a fly in Muscoidea, but I'm no expert.
