Carabidae - Harpalus rufipes

Carabidae - Harpalus rufipes
Logy Bay, Northeast Avalon, Newfoundland/Labrador, Canada

Size: 13 mm Body Length
My wife found this beetle crawling on our carpet this morning and gave it to me to photograph instead of killing it. I appreciate her supporting my photography but even I have to admit this goes above and beyond what I would expect! :) Anyway, now that I've photographed it, can anyone identify a genus/species?

No it does not click, this is a ground beetle, very likely genus Harpalus, which got lost in your house...

Thanks!
Thanks. I should have known it wasn't a click beetle because it wasn't doing any jumping. It's so hard for a novice like me to tell these things apart. I thought it looked like some of the Click Beetles but then again I kept wondering about its 'neck' being too narrow to be a click beetle.
