Ardistomis obliquata

Ardistomis obliquata
Gramercy, Ascension Parish, Louisiana, USA
June 23, 2009
Take by floating pitfall trap 16-30.vi.2009
det. M.L. Gimmel

"Ardistomis" is deemed feminine by Bousquet (2012)
and so the recommended combination is Ardistomis "obliquata". Characteristic for this species is a pair of reddish spots on posterior elytra which are visible in image. This genus is separated from closely related Aspidoglossa and Semiardistomis by elytral stria being well-impressed and impunctate.

cool! adding a plain dorsal shot would be most helpful
Katherine, could you please do that? dorsal habitus would be much more valuable for comparison purposes
